SCHEDULE

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive instructions, drawings, diagrams, and work orders. Interprets drawings or diagrams and plan the details for the work procedure. Select tools required.
  • Knowledgeable on the proper isolation of circuits. Plan and perform work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electrical principles and codes, wire specification, the properties of various materials and the operation and application of equipment.
  • Locate sources of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation (troubleshooting).
  • Dismantle and assemble, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panel circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc.
  • Perform work on “hot” lines as required.
  • Replace coils, resistors, rheostats, relays, etc.
  • Adjust contactors, relays, etc. Reconnect terminal leads, panel boards and distribution feeders.
  • In emergencies, make temporary or permanent repairs to minimize interruption of production.
  • Install conduits, wires, fittings, switches, controls, and fixtures. Connect and adjust all types of electrical equipment as required for new or replacement installations. Make all required splices and connector joints.
  • Perform rigging in connection with servicing of electrical equipment.
  • Perform work with a minimum of direction.
  • Arrange for the handling of materials and equipment to perform job.
  • Use CMMS system.
  • Work on high voltage equipment.
  • Verifie radiation alarms with the appropriate equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Red Seal interprovincial Certification **MANDATORY**
  • 309A or 442A Certification
  • 3 to 5 years experience
  • Experience working with the following equipment: AC/DC motors, AC/DC drives, PLC’s and distributed I/O’s *an asset (GE PLC, ALLEN BRADLEY PLC, SIEMENS PLC)
  • Electrical experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Troubleshooting, Maintenance / Preventive Maintenance
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Bilingual: English and French (oral and written) *preferred
  • Criminal background check

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives instructions covering scheduled and emergency repairs. Installs and inspects work to be done. Reads drawings and precision measuring tools. Performs work with a minimum of direction.
  • Inspects mill equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc. Determines the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production. Advises on the condition of the plant’s equipment.
  • Dismantles, cleans, adjusts, repairs, aligns, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles and lubricates mechanical equipment. Makes either temporary or permanent repairs. Operates maintenance shop tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all plant hydraulic, water, lubrication and air or gas systems and their associated equipment. Determines the cause of failure and decides on the best method and materials to expedite proper economical repairs to restore equipment operation.
  • Works with repair crew as directed on an emergency basis. Erects scaffolds and performs crane hooking/rigging as required.
  • Does minor welding, burning and pipefitting jobs as required.
  • Receives instructions, drawings, and work order for jobs. Interprets drawings, plans the details for the working procedure and selects tools and materials required.
  • Uses CMMS system.
  • Arranges for the handling of materials and equipment to perform job.
  • Works with other trades, as required, on jobs required to maintain mill production.
  • Provides feedback to lead hand and/or foreman about job status.
  • Keeps Immediate working area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Observes all safety rules.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Interprovincial Industrial Mechanic certification-433A **MANDATORY**
  • Millwright: 1 year (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of Rod Mill process
  • Bilingual: English and French (oral and written) **preferred

SCHEDULE

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To the production and maintenance department, provides engineering assistance (concepts, design, feasibility studies, preventive engineering, etc.).
  • Reviews procedures to operate or maintain plant equipment, reviews safety procedures for equipment failures and repairs.
  • Reviews practices and equipment performance, recommends changes to the process and equipment.
  • For engineering projects: carries studies and defines scope of the project, designs, defines materials and equipment specifications, prepares estimates and budgets, coordinates construction and directs contractors and tradespersons, prepares operating and start up procedures, trains operating and maintenance personnel.
  • Approves design of new equipment and modification of existing practices, ensures adherence to government codes and regulations.
  • In coordination with the Senior Draftsperson, ensures updating of mechanical drawings.
  • Performs engineering studies and conducts non-routine tests to trouble-shoot faulty equipment or to resolve technical problems.
  • Observes all safety rules.
  • Ensures safe work practices and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance to Company regulations and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. PEng designation.
  • 8-10 years related industrial experience. **required
  • Engineering technician certification **preferred
  • Good knowledge of industrial equipment, and machinery.
  • Familiar with computer aided and design Cad System, AutoCAD 2022 and higher, drawing utilities and transfer of drawings files from various formats.
  • Experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience in designing equipment modifications.
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Bilingual (French and English) *preferred
